Although it’s commonly believed that the only way to have a successful life and business is to hustle hard. That may look like working 14 hour days between your job and side hustle.
Quite frankly, social media has popularized the way businesses are supposed to be built.
With everybody racing to build a brand this mentality has formed that you have to post multiple IG reels, do various lives, and provide massive amounts of “value.”
While the vanity metrics do grant you visibility, and notoriety. It comes at a steep price.
In my experience, I have seen many solopreneurs fall victim to burnout from running the hamster wheel of social media. And the constant learning of the ever changing algorithm.
It can be very frustrating trying to grow a business when the methods you use to grow shift constantly. I have dealt with these same range of emotions.
We all want to be successful, and build a legacy that impacts the world in a more positive way long after we are here.
The point is, is that our life and business does not have to revolve around the hustle. We only have to focus on one thing every single day, instead of computer algorithms, in order to build the life that we see for ourselves.
And that singular focus you need to become the person you know you were born to be and that you identify as, is….you...through the power of self-mastery.
Ready to discover a new way for you to grow a side hustle through the 4 levels of self-mastery? Which is called the V.I.C.E Methodology.
Each aspect of this methodology is to make the process of growing your business remove fear, and minimize overwhelm while building confidence so that you can attract clients, and grow a full-time legit business.
I created this methodology to inspire more people to join the movement of self-improvement to reach success in your side hustle. In my experience as a productivity coach working with side hustlers, I found we as people struggle getting the results that we want in our life when we don't know where to start, or even what sources of information to trust.
Therefore, it is my mission to provide you with the tools of this methodology in order for you to make the most educated decisions with your side hustle.
And the perfect way to start that journey is with clarity. As you have to know where you want to go in order to get there.

A quick Google search of self mastery will have you find the Merriam-Webster definition of self-mastery. It states: The ability to control one’s own desires or impulses. While true in simplicity, I want to provide you with what I define and believe self-mastery to be.
Self-Mastery to me is a practice of a lifetime journey of using self-awareness to become the best person that you want to be. A person that wants to consistently, relentlessly, and passionately build a life, and business that promotes positive change for everyone around them.
The reason that I say it is a practice is because self-mastery can be an ever changing path.
As you learn to become more of your authentic self it will draw you closer to what brings you the most happiness, peace, and hopefully money for your life. We all, in my opinion, have something inside of us that calls us to be greater than we were the day before.
One of the 7 fundamental human needs is for us to feel significant. This ties directly into what we define as our purpose in life.
Not understanding or even trying to find your purpose, the “What am I here for,” question that we all ask ourselves is something that prevents much of our growth.
For example, changing the way we think and treat ourselves is that initial process of finding importance.
You may think:
This type of negative thinking and treatment of ourselves leads to an endless cycle of self-doubt, which could lead to destructive behavior that causes you to self-sabotage any positive progress that you may make at times.
Thus, in order for you to build a profitable side hustle you must shift the way you talk with yourself.
You can write these down, read, and repeat them daily to shape your subconscious mind for improvement.
The power and self-awareness that you will start seeing here will surprise you. And those that work on this path find themselves gravitating towards a community of like-minded people.
The reason being is that being a part of something, good or bad, is another part of the human basic needs. Thus once you decide to work towards this methodology you find others to support you on this journey.
What 4 levels of this methodology stand for are Vision, Information, Communication, and Effort.
By working through each level it will shape what it is you want out of life, how you will make it a reality, who you need to share that with, and quite frankly putting in the work.
In fact, what stops people from putting in the work is for various reasons. Most commonly though is fear, overwhelm, or confusion on where to begin. It’s OK to have these feelings, they are normal for everybody when starting out.
You just have to find a proven methodology that aligns with you on how to grow a side hustle. Spending more time searching the internet for the latest hack will lead to further feeling afraid or overwhelmed because all the information that you are taking in is overloading you.
This leads to further distractions and hurts your decision making process. Therefore, find a process that is proven that gives you a framework to build a business that you enjoy with strategies that align with you.
The only way to get to your goals is to provide clarity for how you will get there. Your vision will give you the self-motivation that you need to keep your energy flowing through all the levels of self-mastery.
I am sure you have heard the saying that you are an average of the 5 most people you hang around. What this basically means is that your friends, family, clients, and even places that you frequent have a huge impact on your behaviors, thoughts, and actions.
For example, you may have been running your side hustle for some time. You have had some success and gotten lucky getting a few clients. Yet you're ready to take it up a notch. However, either friends or family believe you shouldn’t leave that nice corporate job with the benefits.
While they are trying to protect you in their own way, they may not be entrepreneurs themselves to have the vision that you do.
The naysayers, as we will call them, only add to your fear of failure or doubt that you could do it. Thus, this may block you or hold you back from taking the needed action to move your business forward.
So, it may be best to take note of all the negative things in your life that don’t add positive opportunities to your growth. Because this will give you more freedom and thought power to focus on building your self-mastery skill set.
Also, the reason we start with vision is because this is your time to come up with the outlook of your life and business with how you want it to be. This means if you don’t want to focus on channels that you don’t enjoy, then don’t do them anymore.
There are a multitude of ways to increase opportunities in your life. Take a deeper look on a personal level at what you've been doing to see what doesn’t make you happy.
Answer this question, “what is that I want out of life?” Doesn’t matter what it is. Money, power, a successful business, friends. Begin crafting a plan on how you will make that happen. Get a journal or use a blank Google Doc if need be.
The practice of writing what you want your path to self-mastery to look like will give you more clarity than you think.
Once you draft out what your days will look like, what your business will look like, and how much money you want to make, press yourself to answer, “why do I even want to do all of this?”
Bigger the why, stronger the try.
As I somewhat alluded to before about the overwhelm of information in today’s age. I want to go deeper into the topic at this level. The reason being is that only you know how you want your life to look.
Only you can decide if you really want to work 14 hour days or build a business that can run on semi autopilot while you only work 10 hours a week.
A lot of that is going to fall on the information that you consume to try and reach that goal of yours. Getting bound up tight in a social media, or SEO research phase can have you procrastinate from all the information out there.
So, with understanding of your vision you can then understand the information that you need to make your vision a reality.
Here is the story:
Some time ago I saw this post on the Reddit forums. This gentleman had stated they built a large following and was making a lot of money on Instagram.
Great for him, but he wasn’t happy even with all the success. He spoke about being tired of the social media cycle.
Posting consistent reels, posting photos with captions that add to the photo, as well as maintaining all the relationships he is building on the platform.
What was quite alarming was that he thought he had to stay on Instagram. He was afraid to try and move towards something that he was more happy doing as it would ruin his business.
This is why I teach self-mastery for my private 1:1 coaching clients as we only focus on the information that we need to grow our businesses. Not the latest hack, tip, or swipe file that some “guru” promises will bring you riches.
And another thought about this is that you don’t want to build your business on one platform. A platform that you don’t even own at that. Platforms like IG should only be used as a channel of your business building ecosystem, not the lifeblood.
For example, build out your email list from social media. That way you can further the relationship with your audience. And you have them in something you control more.
My YouTube channel is for those that want to learn how to build email campaigns themselves and how they can make it a key cog in their business for only 20 minutes a day and consistently make sales.
The final point to this area is to mainly be sure that whatever it is you want to learn in life is something that aligns with you. If you don’t want to post tons of videos, write 3 blogs a day or whatever else is said, then don’t. Understand where your strategy plays in your growth.
If you don’t put out much content to increase your visibility then the path will be slower, but it is still possible.
A goal should be to have FUN in your business, really enjoy what you are doing. Doing things because someone else said will not keep you motivated long.
I am going to tell you a secret here about communication that may surprise you.
It can empower you with persuasion if you learn how to use it properly. People in general have the ability to do this, but rarely even know how.
We have ears and a mouth but do not work towards having the skills to use them effectively. Practicing self-mastery changes that.
The real secret to communication is listening.
Harvard Business Review wrote that they did a study at the University of Minnesota to examine our ability to understand and remember what we hear. After testing thousands of students, businesses, and professional people they found that right after the average person has listened to someone talk, they remember only about half of what they have heard.
What I find more amazing about this as the study goes deeper is the fact that they feel the major oversight in this happening is our system of classroom instruction as youth. So much reading is done that no importance is placed on the art of listening.
The fact that we lack listening training(as Harvard Business Review calls it) isn’t the end of the world. Again, self-mastery is bringing awareness to the table. Now that you understand what you need to do better to communicate, you can begin practicing.
When hearing about your spouse's day, tune in and turn off that voice in your head. Ask questions to engage deeper. Say things to show you are paying attention and want to support or validate what they may feel. This may surprise you how happy your spouse feels from these efforts.
The same goes for your clients, friends, & really anybody you come in contact with. You’ll find that people will end up liking you more and ultimately can turn the tide in your favor in many business dealings.
Also, while you use the power of listening you can then convert better when it comes to making sales. That is because you will understand your prospects better because you listened to their problems.
With that understanding you can clearly communicate that you understand their problems(validate) and then let them know that you have a solution for them(support).
Some time ago I talked about Elon Musk and his ability to be a goal setter. Case in point, his goal for SpaceX is to have the human race colonize on Mars. Why? Because he believes that it will help us be better prepared from extinction.
It will take a lot of effort to do so.
Quite frankly, while Musk has the money to pull it off. He put so much effort on something to even learn how to do it.
When asked how he learned to build space-traveling rockets, he simply answered with, “I read books.”
And with that, it shows you can become an expert at anything if you work hard by becoming a master. I am not saying you can’t do something without being an “expert” , just that a part of your continued development is to learn how to master it.
Without being a rocket scientist at least by training, Musk is able to pull off growing a business worth billions. Think of it like this. Because Musk not only used his personal money to grow the business, he involved himself in every deep detail of the actual process to building rocket ships.
By him doing this it allowed him to speak his employees language more clearly and then articulate to future clients the who, what, where, how, why of the rockets.
This deep work and communication propped him up as a leader. Employees wanted to run through walls for him and make the vision happen.
They know that they are becoming a part of something historic. And it allows Musk to ask any price he wants to future customers. All because he had a vision, learned only the information needed, then communicated the vision and the goal to everybody around him so clearly.
Reading books, blogs, articles, even taking digital courses alone will not do the trick. After you devour the information needed to make your vision a reality, go and apply it. That is the only way the information will stick and you can learn exactly if what you learned aligns to you.
As you understand by now, focusing on yourself is a key aspect to becoming the successful person that you desire to be. A business is the mirror of the owner, and it only makes sense that once you figure out what you want at each level, everything else will fall into place and improve.
So, you have a decision to make at this point to keep moving the needle forward in your life. You can click off this blog post and spend the next however long searching for the latest hack, or best side hustle idea to become rich.
Or, you can begin to implement this methodology that has helped me and other businesses accomplish exactly what they set out to do.
Case in point: this methodology helped one of my private 1:1 coaching clients increase revenue in her business by 50% in a 6 month time span. So much so, that she was able to hire an employee while making more and working less.
By working through her vision of having multiple streams of income, I taught her how to create more streams of it in her one business. And this was a passive stream of income that boosted her revenue.
I am someone who not only teaches, but I use exactly what I talk about. By working through this myself it helped me and my wife:
However, if you have decided to go deeper into this framework you don’t have to do it by joining my expensive private coaching.
